Deutsches Kaiserreich · Russian Empire
Deutsches Kaiserreich · Российская Империя
Two empires worth loving & admiring.
confession
Russian Orthodox Traditionalist Right

The faith I was baptized into and hold without apology. The liturgy, the Holy Fathers, the Tradition, all of this is not a curiosity, not an aesthetic, but a real thing.
political convictions
  • Imperialist
  • Monarchist

on the Empires
The Kaiserreich and the Russian Empire stand as the most beautiful states in history, the fullest expression of Christian political order the modern world ever produced & the final stands against chaos and instability. Their fall was no mere historical accident—it was a catastrophic disaster. What followed is the world you see now.
on democracy
"Democracy is a charming form of government, full of variety and disorder, and dispensing a sort of equality to equals and unequals alike."
Plato — The Republic
He saw it clearly 2400 years ago. The crowd does not care about truth, it cares about what sounds good.
"The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter."
Winston Churchill
Said by someone who actually ran a democracy. The system rewards whoever lies most convincingly, not whoever is right.
"In a democracy, the majority of the citizens is capable of exercising the most cruel oppressions upon the minority."
Edmund Burke
Mob rule with extra steps. Dress it up how you want.
"A democracy is a government in the hands of men of low birth, no property, and vulgar employments."
Aristotle — Politics
The guy who tutored Alexander the Great was not impressed either.
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped." Psalm 28:7
projects
Everything lives on SourceHut (~zhrexx). Older and archived stuff is on GitHub. I try to keep things minimal and documented well enough that a stranger could pick them up without emailing me.

Why C and Zig over everything else?
C gives you the machine with nothing between you and it. Zig gives you the same (and more), but with many useful features (like defer, comptime & etc) and a more expressive syntax. Rust is fine but the borrow checker gets in the way more than it helps for the kind of systems work I do—at least most of the times.
Why SourceHut and not GitHub?
SourceHut is fast, minimal, and you can browse code without JavaScript. GitHub is an AI code-farm with a 'polished' (bloated ass) & user-friendly cover. It's a Microsoft product with a social network grafted onto it. Easy choice.
Why Emacs?
It doesn't annoy me, it just works, and it has every feature I actually care about without the bloat (atleast if you hide it properly ☺☺☺☺).
Why Arch Linux?
I don't know, it's just better than the alternatives (except openSUSE). It's rolling and up to date. Plus, I'm too lazy to install openSUSE on my main PC ☺
Are you open to collaborations or work?
Yes, if you have an interesting problem. Write to me@zhrexx.com. Send a plaintext email with a concrete description of the idea or problem.
How do I contact you?
Email: me@zhrexx.com. I do not use social media. I read everything (atleast when i feel like it ☺).
Why use em-dashes in the age of AI?
Because it sounds more—dramatic.
